The Royal School for Deaf Children Margate

Wendy Eadsforth,
Chief Executive
The Royal School for Deaf Children Margate was established in 1792 to provide education and residential provision for deaf children. We are a non-maintained day and residential special school for children who are deaf or who have a hearing impairment or associated communication difficulties. Most of our pupils have additional educational, emotional/behavioural or medical problems.
Both the School and Westgate College, our further education provision, are situated on a large site in the centre of Margate. Our facilities include classrooms, technology centre incorporating IT, Art Design and Technology, library, hall, swimming pool, fully equipped medical centre, soft play and sensory room, specialist therapy rooms and extensive grounds and playing fields.
