Non-abusive Behaviour Interventions

NAPPI Introduction (Non Restraint) (3 hours)

This introductory course is suitable for staff who do not work directly with young people and adults, e.g., administration, domestics, catering, maintenance.  It aims to give them sufficient knowledge to deal with a situation if they happen to be caught up in a behavioural incident by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.  This course can only be delivered at The John Townsend Trust.

NAPPI Level 1 (Non Restraint) (6 hours)

This course focuses on using psychological and non-abusive physical self-protection skills to assess, prevent and manage occasional challenging behaviours.  This course can only be delivered at The John Townsend Trust.

NAPPI Level 2 (Non-abusive Restraint) (2 days)

This course builds upon Level 1 skills and develops skills in non-abusive physical restraint or holding techniques to effectively manage more frequent and severe challenging behaviours.  This course is not recommended for individuals not working in this type of environment.  It can only be delivered at The John Townsend Trust.  An informal interview may be required to ascertain suitability.
