The Occupational Therapy Department
The occupational therapy service is delivered in a range of ways and a range of settings, depending on the needs of the individual learner. Here are some of our key activities:
- The occupational therapists work with external agencies and services to ensure the learners and residents of the Trust receive appropriate, consistent support
- The occupational therapists work with other professionals within the Trust, such as physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, nurses and teachers to provide appropriate services to the learners and residents of the Trust
- The occupational therapy service supports pupils and students to improve their performance in a variety of learning environments (e.g., playgrounds, classrooms, residential areas)
- The occupational therapists strive to reduce barriers that limit student participation within the school and college environment
